WakeEd Partnership Reaches Halfway Mark for $50,000 Matching Grant for its Free Classroom Supply Store for Teachers

RALEIGH, N.C. — WakeEd Partnership (WakeEd), a business-backed nonprofit organization committed to supporting teachers and students in Wake County Public Schools, announced today it has reached the halfway point to secure a $50,000 grant from the 4 Others Foundation to support its new teacher classroom supply warehouse Tools4Schools. In October, the 4 Others Foundation pledged $50,000 in matching funds for Tools4Schools if WakeEd could raise $50,000 by December 31, 2021.

WakeEd Partnership plans to open a school supply “store” in January 2022 for Wake County teachers where they can obtain supplies for FREE to ensure that their students have what they need. WakeEd secured a location across from Crossroads Shopping Center in September from Wake County Public Schools for operations.

“Thanks to the generosity of our community, we’ve raised more than $25,000 toward the $50,000 goal to earn the matching grant from the 4 Others Foundation for our new classroom supply warehouse Tools4Schools,” said Keith Poston, President, WakeEd Partnership. “We know North Carolina public school teachers spend on average $526 of their own money on classroom supplies each year and we believe this new effort will help ease that burden and ensure our students have what they need.”

All gifts are tax-deductible and any contribution made to Tools4Schools by December 31 will be matched by The 4 Others Foundation up to $50,000! Click here to donate using a debit or credit card. Checks can be mailed to WakeEd Partnership at 3101 Industrial Drive, Suite 100, Raleigh, NC 27609, with Tools4Schools on the memo line.
