I couldn’t believe it. As I walked into Target and glanced down to the end of the aisle, there was a plastic Santa Clause staring back at me with a big “Merry Christmas” sign. Here we are just a few days until Halloween and already Target is pushing Christmas.

Honestly, I was a little offended until I remember that the STEM and Global Studies World Café is just two months away. You may remember that more than 100 businesses and educators gathered at Biogen on January 6, 2015, to have a conversation about investments of time and talent impact education in our local schools. The partnerships that came from the event continue to impact students in their classrooms today.

This year, World Café is scheduled for January 5, 2016. We need your help to get even more businesses into the room this year. Yes, it is still two months away, but if Target can advertise for Christmas, we know it’s time to advertise for World Café! You can make our New Year very happy if you contact Director of Programs Teresa Pierrie (tpierrie@wakeed.org) and reserve your spot at the 2016 World Café.

Thank you in advance and allow me to be the first to wish you a very Merry Christmas, and a happy World Café.
