STEMposium
Meet exceptional K-12 educators and their students as they share real-world lessons from Wake County classrooms, inspired by business partnerships!
What is STEMposium?
Each summer, WakeEd Partnership’s SummerSTEM program empowers more than 100 Wake County Public School System teachers to bring real-world lessons to the classroom through immersions with leading STEM organizations in the Triangle. This career-focused professional development program also includes coaching and direct instruction related to project-based learning (PBL). STEMposium is an annual event where these inspired educators can share the projects that they implemented in their classrooms as a result of SummerSTEM business-school partnerships.

School-Business Partnerships Make a Difference

Staying Connected During the COVID-19 Pandemic
When school buildings closed during the COVID-19 pandemic, WCPSS educators continued to go above and beyond for their students. WakeEd’s SummerSTEM program continued in 2020 and 2021 with virtual and hybrid immersions and the community gathered virtually for two online STEMposium events featuring Wake County students and educators.
“I was surprised that an idea created by a small group could impact such a large audience.”
