Wake County Wake Education Partnership, an independent public education advocacy organization, announces its executive leadership team for 2007-08. Virginia Parker, market development officer for Paragon Commercial Bank, has been elected chair of the board of directors, and Hayden J. Silver III, attorney with Kilpatrick Stockton, LLP, will serve as chair-elect.

Other officers include: John McKinney, regional director of external affairs for AT&T, as immediate past chair; Tom Skelton, community leader, as secretary; E. Gordon Brown, Jr., CFO for Alfred Williams & Company, as vice chair of finance; Jeff Merritt, eastern regional director of governmental affairs for KB Home, as vice chair of fund development; Michael Olander, president of Apple Gold Group, as vice chair of programs; A. Marty Clayton, manager of community relations for Progress Energy, as vice chair of board development; Russell Killen, partner with Parker, Poe, Adams & Bernstein, LLP, as board attorney.  Members-at-large are Andi Curtis, public affairs manager for Time Warner Cable, and Robin Costello, vice president of external affairs for Action for Children North Carolina.

New members named to the Board of Directors include: Mathias Bishop, staff assistant for Social Security Administration; Ed Bonner, COO of Coldwell Banker Commercial Properties; Beth Cochran, principal of Enloe GT/IB Magnet High School; Paige Goodwin Elliot, 2007-08 Wake County Teacher of the Year; Don Esposito, corporate general counsel for Rex Healthcare; Robert Holmes, vice president of human resources for Nortel; Sean Kerns, vice president of strategic development and planning for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (BCBSNC); Caroline McCullen, education strategist for SAS Education Practice; Brooks Raiford, director of business development for Balfour Beatty Construction; Amy White, vice president of the Garner Chamber of Commerce; Randall Williams, physician; and Jay Wisse, CEO of Wisse, Hollmann & Co.
