SteveI can’t help but think about celebrations at this time of year. Whether Christmas, Hanukah, Kwanzaa or something else, everyone seems to take this time to celebrate. Thanksgiving reminds us to be thankful for our blessings and in December we celebrate the many ways we are blessed.

WakeEd Partnership recently took some time as a staff to celebrate our many blessings from the past year. We’ve had the chance to support and encourage many of the most talented educators in Wake County Public School System. Our advocacy articles and research studies have prompted news stories and informed tens of thousands of Wake County citizens about our nationally recognized school system. All year long we’ve been blessed to be a catalyst connecting the business community to our schools to create relevant and meaningful experiences for our students.

All of these blessings humble us. But by far, our greatest blessing is you. As a supporter of WakeEd, you have blessed us with resources and influence that allow us to do our work. Your presence at our events has been the best present we could receive. And we feel blessed to have educators who make our local public schools some of the best in the country. As the recently released economic impact study validated, Wake County Public Schools make a tremendous investment in our community.

It is my sincerest hope that you take this time to connect with family and friends to celebrate all of the many blessings in your life. Merry Christmas and have a very Happy New Year.
